Maintenance rules

Recommendations for proper cleaning and maintenance

  • Depressurise the sprayer and clean it with water after every use.

  • Check the correct operation of the safety valve by triggering the mechanism every now and then and making sure that it releases pressure smoothly.

  • Collect and dispose of the residual amount according to the legislation, prescriptions, and applicable regulations.

  • In the event of obstruction of the nozzle, clean it with water and do not use metallic objects.

  • Clean the tank regularly after each use. Rinse with clean water and, if necessary, use specific detergents to remove stubborn residues.

  • Safety: Removing chemical residues prevents possible unwanted reactions and protects the health of spray operators.

  • If the filter of the handle is clogged, remove it and clean it with water.

  • Store the sprayer under cover, avoiding freezing temperatures and extreme heat (between 5°C and 30°C).

  • To prolong the life of the seals, regularly apply grease to the moving parts of the sprayer.

  • Check components: check the condition of nozzles, filters and hoses. Replace any worn or damaged components with original IK® spare parts, as these ensure safe and reliable equipment service. Please refer to these links for information on spare parts identification and maintenance kits.

Safety rules

  • Always follow the instructions and dosages on the packaging labels that the manufacturer recommends for the chemical product to be used.

  • To avoid any consumption of the product, do note at, drink or smoke while preparing and spraying.

  • Do not spray on people, animals, electrical installations, flames, open fire, or other sources of ignition.

  • In the event of poisoning, see your doctor, taking the chemical product packaging with you.

  • Never dispose of waste product or cleaning residues near water courses, wells, etc.

  • Use suitable protective equipment, masks, goggles, gloves, footwear, etc., to avoid contact of the chemical products with skin, eyes and mouth.

  • Read the instructions for the sprayer before its use. Do not modify the sprayer. Do not obstruct or strike the safety valve. Do not use the sprayer if it is damaged, deformed or altered from its original shape. Should the hose, tank, handle or any of its connections be damaged, do not attempt to repair but replace the items with new parts.

  • The composition of the chemicals and substances to be sprayed, along with the conditions of use, such as solar radiation, temperature, pressure, etc., affect the endurance of the tank material. Ageing and storage conditions also directly impact the tank's physical properties; thus, it is impossible to accurately predict a sprayer's service life.

  • It is essential to follow the cleaning and maintenance guidelines recommended by the IK® manufacturer to ensure that your IK sprayer with compressed air connector (on models: IK Foam Pro 12 and IK Multi Pro 12+) continues to work safely and effectively.

    IK Sprayers strongly recommends that the Foam Pro 12 and Multi Pro 12+ sprayers be replaced by a new one 18 months after purchase, especially in the event of intensive (daily) use of the compressed air connector sprayers. This is crucial for the user's safety and to avoid future hazards due to wear and tear of the materials.

  • Keep sprayer out of reach of children.

  • Use the sprayer only with substances which are compatible.

  • Please use only IK® manufacturer's original spare parts and accessories. We shall not be liable for any damage caused by third-party parts.
